About Air Products

Air Products is a world-leading industrial gases company touching the lives of people every day.

Our gases, equipment and services help to save lives, protect the environment, boost productivity, and energise the future.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects are at the heart of our innovative solutions and through our STEM strategy we help to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. It is important to Air Products that we understand young students, help to improve their employability skills and be positive role models. We do this by attending schools and showing our liquid nitrogen demonstrations, sponsoring, and attending exhibitions, and our work experience programmes - giving students the opportunity to work on real life problems and understand what we do and how we do it.

We have approximately 19,000 employees globally, of which 1000 employees are based in the UK & Ireland.

Our company culture

Air Products is at the forefront of sustainability and is the largest producer of hydrogen, a fuel that is regularly used by taxis, couriers, police vehicles and buses as an alternative sustainable fuel, as the only emission is water which helps us all to work towards ‘generating a cleaner future’.

Did you know that we take the air that you breathe, and use our air separation units, which are large white columns, to cool the air and turn it into liquid nitrogen, oxygen and argon?

Nitrogen is found in packaged foods like crisps, oxygen is used in large furnaces that make products like glass and argon is found in double glazing and lightbulbs.
