About Brighdin...
Who am I?
"I think the personality types align with my current work.1. Co-Ordinator: I think this personality type fits my current experience, especially attributes like being organised, works well with others, willing to help when needed, and gets things done on time on budget. The last one is very important when you are under deadlines to complete project milestones.2. Trainer: This personality type surprised me at first however from reviewing the attributes I can see that certain types apply to me including understanding and helpful, good at simplifying complex information, passionate about sharing knowledge, efficient and organised.3. Influencer: The attributes I relate to in this personality type are being good with detail, working on my own or in a team, good at finding out or reviewing information, can think outside the box, thorough and reliable."
What do I do?
"My role is a Quality Engineer- Compliance and my main duties are to ensure Design Control Compliance and Risk Management of new product development, which involves understanding industry standards and applying them to project work. I enjoy overseeing the compliance of my project overall, and facilitating design reviews as it involves a lot of cross collaboration with almost every department on the project which I really enjoy as I love to communicate and open to learning new information. I also work alongside our medical and clinical department ensuring the products we development are safe to use for the patients using it, and working out the risk associated and how we can reduce this. "
How did I get here?
"During my four years of university I was lucky enough to secure an undergraduate placement year in industry for my third year, and after I graduated I was able to return to this same company to begin my career. I worked in a global medical device company in the post market sector, and moved onto new product development. After 4 years I took a career break and travelled South-East Asia for 3 months which I was very fortunate to do. I then applied for my current role which is in the Pharmaceutical combination product development space."
The life I live
"Alongside work I like to keep fit and active including Pilates and Yoga, walking/hike. I have a Boxer dog, so the latter is very important that I also keep him fit! I am a big foodie.. l love to cook & I like to challenge myself to try out new recipes and cuisines. With my love of food this also fits nicely into my love of travel- as one of my main joys is to try new cuisines from all over the world."
My typical day
"Since I work on new product development projects, everyday can look different depending on the stage of the project you are at. I typically spend my day focused on the priority tasks and deliverables needed to move the project onto the next milestone. There are dedicated weekly team meetings to update on progress and some individual meetings on different deliverables where cross-collaboration and input is needed. "
