Doctoral Researcher for Intelligent Data Analysis team at Brunel University. at Brunel University

Nobody's Perfect! Anything is possible when you set your faith and heart to it and forward is forward, no matter how small the step. It is NEVER to late to start anything.

One should try and learn something new every day. Work on your inner peace and self love and inner confidence by loving what a beautiful, gorgeous miracle you are. There will always be haters. But one must stay kind and strong and grateful for ones existence and life and all our wonderful qualities and blessings...the more one gives, it always comes back one way or the other.

Remember always to help others, even if they be the haters, because one doesn't know how sad they must be on the inside to be so bitter. You are an awesome cool girl, and you can do anything you want, literally ANYTHING, if you set your mind to it. Just stay kind along the way.

STEMETTES are new SEXY by the way and they are here to stay. ;) Just saying.

About Fawzia Zehra...

Who am I?

"I am a mom, a daughter, a teacher, a homemaker and now pursuing my dream of pursuing my PhD in Computer Sciences with a focus towards Intelligent Data Analysis involving Data Sciences, Statistics and Machine Learning techniques.

As a Data Analyst I am an Explorer, Innovator, Investigator. But my personality test revealed I was a Campaigner, Communicator and Coordinator. And quiet honestly, all the 6 traits sum me up.

As a Campaigner, I like to understands what motivates people and have lots of creative ideas. I am good with words, empathically listening to problems and people and pretty organized. I am passionate about making a difference and encourage teamwork (like an EXPLORER).

I am a confident Communicator and understands the audience open-mindedly, and the importance of communicating information to different people and simplifying complex information via research and enquiry and listening and looking for clues in situations that can give me further solutions (like an INVESTIGATOR).

As a Coordinator, I am organized, communicatively like to provide a service and can deliver what people need. I like people and try to be patient and compassionate. I like to pull people together to gets things done as nicely and prettily as possible on time and budget in the most efficient, quickest, or newest way possible (like an INNOVATOR)."

What do I do?

"I do loads and loads of research i.e. reading loads and loads and experimenting (trying and failing and trying again..) to try and solve a problem that does some kind of useful service to others.

I love studying how a set of data (numbers and texts) can tell a story and that story can lead one to discover a mysterious pattern that can link different scenarios together, and then one can learn to predict via old patterns what a new pattern may look like, leading to solve problems given a certain scenarios. Making one even close to a magician or a wizard, or in my case a witch, who can foretell the future and perhaps prevent a crisis, avert a disaster, like Dr Strange predicted The Endgame, or even predict a possible advantage in doing something a certain way, and some analysts have even saved many lives predicting what could have been a fatal move, natural disasters, and prevented it!

One system in China prevents possible future 3 to 5 suicides a day by analyzing data on social media and sending guardian angels before the act. Or the travel system that predicts the best weather to travel to a particular destination at a particular time.

Why some have even discovered a silly pattern of Georgie the giraffe in Australia eating out of the orange tree, which usually means Bobo the monkey in Africa will start doing the moonwalk. Or how ice cream is linked to shark attacks (https://www.kdnuggets.com/2019/01/dr-data-ice-cream-linked-shark-attacks.html)! Go figure! They found a link!

Data Information works in really cool, mysterious, amazing, awesome ways! "

How did I get here?

"Years and years of trying to ask myself what more I really want to do with my life and reading loads and meeting loads of people till I found something that gets me excited to read up about on and experiment around with and everyday it makes me really, really, really want to be a part of that field and do something of service to humankind with my contribution even in the smallest way in that field.

And I was very passionate about following that path one I did find it. And it's never too late. I found it in my late 40s!"

The life I live

"I watch TV and films (esp at the cinema with nachos) and read books, listen to music, go dancing, karaoke, go for walks, hang with my mom or teenage daughter and friends. I also enjoy nagging at her to do her best, my daughter not my mom.

I love hanging out in cafes having hot chocolate or tea or lattes, and eating yummy desserts. I really would love to sit by the beach hearing the waves , snoozing, drinking pina coladas and watching surfers and reading and listening to nice beach music too. I am also quite spiritual and like to meditate or pray daily. But it seems you can't live your life doing that all the time.

I love mentoring young people. And helping anyone in any kind of need if I can."

My typical day

"Prayers, morning strong tea, send daughter off to school, looking after the cats needs, drive to work with peppy music, managing a computer lab, meetings, emails, loads of reading and computer coding, looking for patterns in numbers and texts and trying to find ways to predict the what is can solve or elucidate, attending a research methods course and some other self development workshops, having chats and lunches with colleagues and having a bit of laugh, more emails courses and coding, long traffic filled never ending drive back (worst part of the day) and then dinner for family and self, dessert, cats, and some tv or quick work, prayers and sleep."

My qualifications

"BSc, PGCE and MSc in Computer Science."
