About Laura...

Who am I?

"A Co-Ordinator, Influencer and Manager...I think the personality types perfectly fit within my role - I must delegate effectively, motivate and manage employees."

What do I do?

"Copywriter (£18,000 - £23,000)As a Copywriter at END. Clothing - your main responsibility is to write informative, accurate and engaging descriptions. You will need to research and write product descriptions for a wide range of products: from a Nike x Stranger Things collaboration, to a Gucci tracksuit, a Kanye West's Yeezy sneaker or a basic Carhartt bucket hat. As Copywriter, it is important that you tell the customer a product's story, paint them a picture through your writing - thinking about how are you going to sell it, without ever meeting them face to face.Key skills include creativity, a love of writing with an excellent use of grammar and spelling.Assistant Content Manager (starting £27,000)My main responsibilities as Assistant Manager are to oversee END.'s Content department: this includes a team of Copywriters writing descriptions, Editors retouching product images, the Sizing team measuring garments and the E-Commerce team who oversee the look of the website. I love developing staff, ensuring they are engaged, feel motivated and above all: are happy in their job."

How did I get here?

"First day of University, people were picked at random, asked to stand up and explain what their future career goals were after completing a degree in English Language: \"Dialect Coach\", \"Teaching English Abroad\", \"Journalist\", \"Editor\". I hid in my chair. I never knew I could combine my love of writing with an interest in fashion, and going back, I would have stood up and said: a \"Copywriter\".At GCSE I studied the subjects I loved. My A-Levels were the GCSE subjects I achieved good grades in. At University I chose the degree I thought I would hate the least! After I finished University I took my part-time job into a full-time job at Fenwick Ltd. I though I had wasted my degree in retail, but looking back, it was in those 2 years at Fenwick I learnt how to sell and communicate with customers effectively.Fast forward to now... I have loved working as a Copywriter for END. Clothing - selling product's through their stories, writing blog posts, press releases, and developing a team of Copywriters as their Team Leader. More recently I have been promoted to the Assistant Content Manager, and right now that is my future and latest challenge."

The life I live

"Taking care of yourself is so important, for me that means going to a spin class to relieve stress, getting at least 7 hours of sleep every night, starting the day with coffee and ending it with chocolate.Any spare time I have - I cook, eat my way around Newcastle - and travel with every day off from work.Something most people don't know about me but the girls might find interesting? I completely failed every subject in my first year of A-Levels.. so any falls along the way are not then end! You can always try again! ... It might have taken me 3 years to get there, but I finally got the grades to go to Newcastle University."

My typical day

"My day-to-day varies. From answering emails to tracking the performance of Content, everything I do is to ensure that END. - and our online platform - offers the best shopping experience for every customer across the globe.A typical day can start by quality checking the website, answering queries from Customer Services, dealing with HR-related situations and thinking about how we can improve our workflow process. Alongside ensuring products are enabled on time (and we launch nearly 200 a day!!!!!), we run sale and Christmas campaigns, which require creativity, organisation and confidence in voicing opinon.Anything you see on the END. Clothing website? That needs to go through the Content Team."
