Rachel Dickinson
Customer Business Analyst at Intel Corporation
Be okay with failure and not sticking to your 'life plan'. I've had a few roles in the past few years since joining as a graduate, most of which I was either a square peg in a round hole, or I simply didn't enjoy. Ride the wave of success and failure and own them, as these help you progress tenfold. You will reach your goals, just maybe not through the path you'd expect!
About Rachel...
Who am I?
"They match exactly to what interests me at work. My job is analysing data, so this is very much linked to Quality Controller. Coordinator helps with attention to detail and Trainer helps me to share my knowledge and explain what I find in the data, to others. "
What do I do?
"Basically I look at Revenue and inventory analysis, create efficient processes, problem solve and work with many different teams to help them perform better. I like the project opportunities and making processes more efficient for internal and external parties in various ways. Travelling around Europe to meet customers and internal sales teams is fun. Progression in this role can be an entry-level graduate to experienced individual contributor. It is a very visible role so can often be used as a stepping stone into other departments."
How did I get here?
"A previous manager inspired me - she made me understand the value that working at a company like Intel has to an intern or a graduate. "
The life I live
"Outside of work, I enjoy exercise and environmental volunteering."
My typical day
"My day involves problem solving internal and external escalations, managing expectations and analysing revenue."
My qualifications
"Undergraduate degree (BSc, BA, etc.) First Class Honours - Mathematics BSc "
