About Hannah...

Who am I?

"I am an Investigator and an Explorer so I enjoy researching new innovative solutions and solving problems by drawing on the experience of others."

What do I do?

" I review literature, theoretical study, develop new ideas and carry out practical investigations. I love that I have the opportunity to work with and learn from world leading scientists and engineers. I could progress onto a PhD or pursue a career in research and development and/or teaching. I have now been offered and have accepted a job as a chemical process engineer in production management – careers within science are incredibly flexible!"

How did I get here?

"A friend was working as a microbiologist for a water treatment company when I told her that I wasn't sure what I wanted to study at university. I enjoyed listening to what she did and I decided to try pursue chemical engineering as a route to water treatment as a career."

The life I live

"I enjoy Yoga! "

My typical day

"I spent a typical day reading, learning, researching and carrying out experimental investigations."

My qualifications

"I think having the right mindset is the most important thing. If you're willing to work hard, then it will pay off. Be sure to take advantage of any and every opportunity you're offered, whether that's development within a job role or education/qualifications. Science, maths and English are the most important subjects especially within an engineering role, along with any additional ones you think may benefit you further down the line."
