How did I get here?
"After leaving school, Jo attended Sheffield Hallam University where she studied Estate Management and gained a HND. This qualification gave Jo the platform to study a degree in Estate Management at South Bank University in London where she achieved a 2:1 Bachelor of Science degree in Estate Management. Whilst studying at South Bank University, Jo had the opportunity to take a 'year in industry' placement with British Rail Property Board. This provided her with valuable hands-on experience of surveying in practice. Following graduation, Jo worked in a small private-practice in London Docklands where she completed her Assessment of Professional Competence for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Jo then re-joined the railway working for as a chartered general practice surveyor and has worked in the rail industry ever since. Jo moved into the Technical Authority at Network Rail to head up the Environment & Sustainability team in October 2020 using her experience of the built environment and land estate in driving positive sustainable change across the business and the wider industry."
