About Jaine...
Who am I?
"Teaching, working in a team, supervising students, working with collaborators and constantly looking at new ways to analyse data and do things better... These all fit in with my ‘Communicator’, ‘Coordinator’ and ‘Explorer’ types!"
What do I do?
"I teach and carry out research into why cancer develops and how best to treat. I use maths, stats and computing to uncover complex patterns in patient data. I end up talking a lot as well as thinking of new ideas and trying out different ways to carry out analysis. I can progress and follow onto Senior Lecturer, Reader and ultimately, Professor. "
How did I get here?
"My parents (both fans of education) inspired me. My Maths and Art teachers at school believed in me, which also inspired me."
The life I live
"In my spare time, I enjoy sewing, baking, gardening and occasional cat/wildlife rescue."
