Try and silence your inner voice that may tell you that you can't do something. Look for ways to shine and be yourself as everyone else is taken.
About Charlotte...
Who am I?
"My role as a Programme Manager requires the skills listed in Campaigner and Communicator so I can work with lots of different people, influence groups to work with me to get the best outcomes. Coordinator helps with working on behalf of my customers and being highly organised to get the project or job delivered on time."
What do I do?
"I am the lead conference organiser for Amazon's internal developer conference (DevCon). I work with software developers who have cool things to talk about and want to share their ideas with colleagues and peers. I am responsible for finding teams to support the event, people to speak at the event and organising all the fun stuff that happens while we are there! I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and helping them share the cool things they have been working on or designing. I love it when I have worked with a new presenter and I see them shining on stage. There are always new things to try within the job and I love experimentation."
How did I get here?
"I am inspired by so many people every day including colleagues, leaders and teachers. Michelle Obama is a huge inspiration, particularly how she came out of her comfort zone and tried new things. The people I work with inspire me with how they approach new challenges."
The life I live
"I love singing and am part of a choir. I also have a mischievous puppy that I love to take on walks and play with. He is only 5 months so is exploring everywhere and seeing things with fresh eyes. My friends and family are very important to me too, so I find time to catch up with them, as that is when I recharge the most."
My typical day
"There really isn't a typical day. I can be in meetings with people across the business, visiting a potential venue for the next conference or on phone calls with the conference speakers to coach them on how best to present their topics. I love that no two days are the same. My favourite days are during the conference when I see all my work come together. There is such a buzz meeting the conference attendees and hearing their suggestions on things we can try at the next one!"
