Who am I?
"Being a co-ordinator really suits my role as my jobs requires me to be well organised. You need to be good at communicating with clients too. "
What do I do?
"As a trainee patent attorney, I respond to office actions and review them with more senior members of staff. I amend claims and patent specifications too. I most enjoy the scientific nature of the cases that I work on."
How did I get here?
"After taking A Levels in A Level Maths, Biology & Chemistry, I completed a BSc in Biomedical Science. I worked as a digital marketing manager for a while, before taking a year out to go travelling. When I got back I found about the IP industry and applied for the role I am currently in."
The life I live
"In my spare time I enjoy exercising, running, yoga, travelling, baking, seeing my friends, exploring London and training my dogs."
My typical day
"On a typical day, I will be reviewing documents (office actions) written up by patent examiners after they’ve read through the patent applications. I then report this to clients and find ways to overcome objections which are suitable for the patent office and the client."
