Who am I?
"It matches me as a person: Coach because I'm very empathetic and took on a 'mentoring' role in my department, helping graduates and juniors develop their skills. Coordinator because I co-ordinate tasks and use the skills required to do so."
What do I do?
"I am a Software Engineer! I work on websites (currently) and mobile apps at the BBC. I maintain them, adding new features and elements (tables, interactions, visuals, etc.) There are opportunities to grow, lots of courses and qualifications to attain. I love making a feature or a project from scratch, starting with empty screen and have a working website/feature by the end of a project. "
How did I get here?
"Most women in my family are Engineers and I wanted to get into higher education. I love video games and wanted to know how they are created, which led me to a Computer Science course at university. I went from Graduate Software Engineer to Junior Software Engineer to Software Engineer. I look forward to being promoted to Senior Software Engineer, then Principal Software Engineer, Technical Architect or Tech Lead."
The life I live
"I play video games, watch films and travel a lot around the world (about 5-6 trips per year)."
My typical day
"I have a few meetings about design and coding, then have coding sessions solo or with another person. I also do user testing sessions."
