About Pamela...

Who am I?

"As an organised, self-motivated and persistent individual, Pamela always ensures that deadlines are met as well as her customer’s needs. Much of Pamela’s role requires problem solving and understanding a lot of new data, which is what makes her a suitable fit to the ‘Investigator’ role. As part of Pamela’s job, she often has to explain the data (service) to clients in a way they would understand - this requires much communication, which explains why she is a suitable fit to the ‘Coordinator’ and ‘Quality Controller’ personality type. "

What do I do?

"As a European Space Agency Business Ambassador much of Pamela’s responsibility is to support the development of new services that use data from satellites or other space technology in Scotland and Northern Ireland. This involves meeting lots of new people, understanding their needs and how information from space can help to meet these needs.Pamela’s favourite part of her job is meeting new people, hearing about new technologies and helping to address challenges that are faced by lots of different industries. But mostly – she enjoys being part of the space industry! "

How did I get here?

"At University Pamela studied a degree in Aero-Mechanical Engineering followed by a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. During her PhD, Pamela was able to work at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory during the landing of the Curiosity Rover on Mars – wow! After University Pamela had various jobs in research within the University in Aerospace Manufacturing and Space Mission Analysis, before joining Clyde Space to work on the development of small satellites. Following this, Pamela started at the European Space Agency Business Ambassador to help generate new space services in Scotland and Northern Ireland."

The life I live

"Pamela loves to travel when she can, she particularly has a passion for attending sport events all over the world. With her interest in sport, Pamela enjoys running, cycling and swimming in her spare time. Interestingly, she is currently training for the Walt Disney World Marathon – which will be her first every marathon. In addition to sport and travel, she likes socialising with her friends and baking. In the future Pamela wants to continue progressing with her career in the Space Industry whilst enjoying a happy family life. "

My typical day

"No day is ever the same for Pamela. Usually she would have a variety of meetings or attend different events to learn more about the challenges facing different industries as well as technology developments in space services. "
