About Leanne...

Who am I?

"In her role, Leanne needs to be friendly and honest because she acts as an intermediary between business users and IT services, which really fits with the ‘Coach’ and ‘Coordinator’ types. She is creative and works hard to resolve issues and deliver change which matches well with the ‘Explorer’ type."

What do I do?

"Leanne’s working day consists of reviewing her tasks, and considering what change is needed. She asks people for their input on change and puts the change through the relevant processes in order to be able to deliver it. She attends meetings, sends and receives emails, and makes calls, as well as updating systems and documentation. Leanne works with many different people, who operate at different levels, from an end user to the person who owns the company! She thinks that meeting new people is great part of the role, as they can really help you to develop your skills. Leanne loves delivering change, and knowing that if someone has an issue she will be able to resolve this with the help of her peers."

How did I get here?

"Leanne did a degree in Textile Retail Management. She actually had a family while still studying at university and worked part-time to support her family. It was hard work at the time, but she stayed focused on the fact that she wanted to get her degree. She really loves the world of fashion and textiles but has also looked for other opportunities that still allow her to be creative. She was particularly inspired by a project during which she had to reach out to business users to help support this piece of work. Leanne went on to work in customer services, and found that she really wanted to improve process and systems, and ways of working, which led her to the role she is in now. Leanne’s starting salary as a Business Analyst was £42,000."

The life I live

"In her spare time, Leanne likes to read, shop, bake and spend time with her family. Her job brings opportunities to travel locally and internationally. Some of the companies Leanne has worked for have offices all over the UK, and Leanne has travelled to them to meet with stakeholders. From her current role, Leanne could progress to be a Lead Business Analyst, a Senior Business Analyst, a Business Analysis Manager, a Principal Business Analyst, or a Business Consultant. In the future, Leanne would really like to be a freelance Business Analyst, with her own business."
