Web Developer
Every day we use lots of websites - to find out where to buy our favourite trainers, what’s on at the cinema, how much money is in our bank account, and what everyone around us is up to. Every site and all the pages that make up the site are designed and created by a web developer, and are being constantly improved, maintained and updated by people with web development skills. Web designers work closely with clients and end users (like yourself) to create and design a website that works for everyone. The client may want to sell a range of items; the customer will need to select, compare and pay for them. The designer needs to design a site that does all of these, and ensure that the site is maintained and updated. You want the latest design trainers and to know they are in stock. Web developers and designers tend to be creative, organised, and imaginative. They will need good communication skills to find out what is needed, and of course they will need good IT skills. Maths, English and ICT are really important qualifications to support web developers. Web developers can earn £20,000 to £50,000 per year.
