Procurement manager

Procurement managers and purchasing managers buy the equipment, goods and services their company needs to run and carry out their activities.  This could be anything from pens for the office through to steel beams for buildings, or the enormous amount of concrete needed to build a dam!  The Procurement Manager will work with teams to decide what goods, services and equipment are needed and to search for the best products and prices, as well as finding suppliers who can offer the quality needed and deliver on time.  They may be assessing potential suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts, monitoring delivery and quality, or forecasting future requirements. A projects viability can depend on the procurement manager sourcing the materials at the right price and getting them delivered on time.  Procurement managers can earn £20,000 to £60,000 pa.
