Data Analyst
The more we can measure things, the more data we get. Whether that’s in a hospital or on a farm or airplane or on your phone – there is more and more data being created. With lots of data, we can look for trends to help understand what’s happening. If there’s an Ebola outbreak in Africa – the data analyst is able to track the spread of the infection. Or if there’s a worm on the internet, the data analyst can help understand what’s happening to work back to where it came from. Data analysts are called by many names such as knowledge engineers, statisticians, knowledge experts, information specialsts but it’s all about understanding what’s happening and doing something to make a difference. You might need to be good with numbers, logical and curious for this sort of role.
