About Juliet...
Who am I?
"I think the personality types of coach, developer, and quality controller match with me quite well. Some of the main qualities of a coach are that they are good at working with a wide range of people, they take pride in exceeding expectations, and they are problem solvers. Teamwork is a core skill in my work as there are lots of collaborative projects which require inputs from different functions and good communication to help solve problems. Some of the main qualities of a developer are that they are creative, interested in the world around them and how to make it better and inquisitive. This fits the work I do as I help create lots of content such as videos and infographics that will help educate healthcare professionals. I also love learning new things and different ways of increasing engagement from our audiences. Some of the qualities of a quality controller are that they are good with detail and good at managing risk. This fits the work I do because I need to make sure that everything, we are sharing is accurate and trustworthy."
What do I do?
"The main things I do in medical affairs are create educational resources for health care professionals, form the scientific bridge between the commercial side of the business and the healthcare community, and ensure compliance and medical integrity. The main outcome of my work is addressing the unmet need of different stakeholders and communicating data in a non-promotional, accurate and balanced way.One thing I enjoy about medical affairs is the broad scope of the role which includes stakeholder engagement, facilitating research and medical education."
How did I get here?
"I completed my A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. I then went on to study Biomedical Sciences at the university of Warwick. In my 2nd year of study, I decided to transition from a 3-year undergraduate degree to a 4-year degree. This allowed me to add on a year in industry (placement year), which I secured at Pfizer. I really wanted to get experience and explore careers in the pharmaceutical industry and that’s why I chose this industry over a lab role. I specifically wanted to stay close to the science whilst also engaging with key stakeholders which prompted me to apply for a role in medical affairs. "
The life I live
"In my spare time I like capturing candid moments through photographs and videos. I am also trying to learn video editing as I am part of the media team at my church."
My typical day
"I usually get into the office at about 9am, log onto my laptop, check through my emails and see what meetings I have scheduled for the day. I also attend various team meetings, some of them involve discussions with colleagues from different areas of the business. I also speak with external agencies who help us execute our projects and I ensure that all our projects are on track. I go into the office about 2/3 days a week and I appreciate the hybrid structure as it allows me to interact with colleagues in person"
My qualifications
"Studied Chemistry, Maths, Biology at A-level.Studying Biomedical Sciences BSc as Undergraduate degree"
