About Chanchal...
Who am I?
"I am an inquisitive person who loves to explore solutions to a problem. I love the unpredictability of geotechnical engineering as no two projects are the same! I also like to see the big picture on why we do certain things. "
What do I do?
"I am a civil engineer specialising in geotechnical engineering. My favourite part of the role is finding the cause of a landslide so that it can be fixed. I am in a strategy team dealing with assurance and leadership indirectly. "
How did I get here?
"I studied civil engineering in university but from early on was interested in geotechnical engineering. Soil being a natural material contains so many variables. I used to be a geotechnical design engineer but moved to an asset owner role few years ago. This role meant dealing with landslides, understanding the causes of it, and fixing it so that it can be safe for passengers to reach their destination. "
The life I live
"Reading, travelling, spending time in nature"
My typical day
"I look at data and information a lot and try to come with meaningful relationships from it. Part of my role is also to look at verifying other's works. The most enjoyable part for me is working with other engineers. "
My qualifications
"BEng in Civil Engineering, MSc in Civil Engineering : Geotechnical Engineering "
