About Lili...
Who am I?
"I believe the personality types fit me well. I am passionate about bringing colleagues together to coordinate various projects and ensure all our strengths are utilised to drive success. I am a due diligent, organised individual and working in an industry with various regulations, quality control is key in all we do. I view influencing as bringing a team along with you and ensuring everyone has the same vision and is onboard with the work that needs to take place to drive change. "
What do I do?
"Being a marketeer in the pharmaceutical industry is an extremely rewarding position. I/we have two key goals. The first being to raise awareness amongst healthcare professionals of the medication available to support with the treatment of specific diseases. It is all about the right medication getting to the right patients at the right time. This can be done through various platforms such as email, websites, congresses, meetings and materials used by Pfizer Sales Representatives. The second is all around raising awareness of specific diseases, especially those that are rare, to the general public. This can drive earlier diagnosis and better treatment outcomes. Working on campaigns that drive both these aspects and becoming aware of patient stories and the impact treatment has had on them is extremely motivating and encourages you to continue to do what you are doing. "
How did I get here?
"Since GCSEs, I have always been passionate about Biology, but I was not sure on a future job. I decided to take Biology as an A-Level and then as a degree at Bath University. Knowing I wasn’t sure on a future career, I opted for a university that supported a professional placement, making the course 4 years instead of 3. This allowed me to apply for various year-long professional placements and I was lucky to have secured a placement at Pfizer as their Global HCP and Patient Engagement undergraduate. Here I gained a significant understanding of how the pharmaceutical industry operates and the various roles required to bring medicines to healthcare professionals and patients. Following my placement, I knew this was the industry I wanted to work in. I then applied for the Pfizer Graduate Scheme and was successful in securing a position for the following year after graduating from Bath University. On the graduate scheme I gained experience in marketing and sales, and since then I have decided on a path in marketing. I thoroughly enjoy the work I do, and I am passionate about the impact it has. "
The life I live
"Work can be busy so it’s important to switch off when you can! I love to spend time with my friends, normally heading into London for various days out, and I do my best to save my money to go travelling when I can. I love both skiing and beach holidays "
My typical day
"I start my day reviewing emails which I then use to add to my To Do list for the day/week. Throughout the day I usually have various meetings with team members and various stakeholders to provide updates and collaborate on various projects taking place. Projects entail those associated with pharmaceutical marketing, such as healthcare professional promotional campaigns to ensure clinicians are aware of how, where and when to use Pfizer medicines, as well as disease awareness campaigns to ensure the general public are aware of conditions that may affect them or those close to them. Completion of projects relies on liaising with external agencies, collaborating internally with colleagues and in some instances, contracting with healthcare professionals to ensure the work we complete is of value to them and their patients. "
My qualifications
"A-Levels (Maths – A, Biology – A, Chemistry – B) BSc Biology Degree with Professional Placement – First Class Hons (Bath University with a professional placement at Pfizer) "
