About HOLLIE...

Who am I?

"I'm very much a people person so being a \"coach\" personality is something that I agree with. I have to be able to work with people, explore customer sites and sometimes investigate new ways to do things. I have always needed to know how things work. As a child I would take things apart and put them back together to understand how they worked, which lends itself to being and explorer and investigator. "

What do I do?

"The main things I do is help plan the installation of our CryoEase tanks at customer's sites. The tanks hold liquid gases at extremely cold temperatures and I have to make sure everything is done safely and correctly. As a Project Engineer, I most enjoy the variety of the job and that no day is ever the same."

How did I get here?

"I completed my BEng degree in mechanical engineering at Derby University and got my first role as a project engineer at a Heavy Haulage company. That role including the planning and installation of large equipment with lots of working away and lots of complicated jobs. I reached the point where I felt I needed a new challenge and applied to Air Products, and joined in the summer of 2021 as a project engineer."

The life I live

"I was very active when I was younger and played football at a high level . I really enjoy music and spending time with my family and little girl. I found out during the third year of my 4 years at uni that I am Dyslexic, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxic . "

My typical day

"A typical day is looking at different customer installations to work out what the customer requires and how the team work with the customer to make it work. This may involve going to the customer's site to investigate whether the site is suitable and safe for our tank installation, and if not what changes need to be made to allow us to install our equipment. My day can be filled with replying to emails and taking phone calls from customers and my team. I also put together 'bills of materials' which outlines the type of tanks, equipment and pipework etc and also the quantities required. "

My qualifications
