"After my PhD, I worked in government developing policy. I then moved into industry, starting out in strategy, then moving into programme management, transformation and change management. I lead a few increasingly sizeable bids to win new business opportunities and then stayed on to deliver the largest of these. I had an opportunity to broaden out from large project management into business leadership which is my dream job, bringing together what I've learned in Strategy, Business Winning, Programme Management and Transformation as well as leading people. "I get in early to work through emails but spend most of my time from 8am until 5pm in meetings as my role is to ensure that everyone knows what they're doing and has everything they need to do that effectively. Meetings range from individual conversations talking through priorities and challenges, to groups of people coming together to work through challenges. I spend a fair amount of time reviewing the progress that we're making in the business from bids to programmes, to finances, to people. "
