About Naomi...

Who am I?

"My personality types match me completely! So that tells you a bit about who I am. I'm an outgoing, passionate person who loves working with others and leading a team. So, who am I? I am the Founder and CEO of Movetru Ltd, a TEDx Speaker, a Royal Academy of Engineering Scholar, 1st Class Master's of Product Design Engineering Graduate, Dance Instructor, Influencer, and Model. "

What do I do?

"I am the founder and CEO of Movetru Ltd.Movetru aims to reduce rehabilitation by 27%. It is the home physio for anyone, anywhere. For Movetru, I organise activities, develop my product, coordinate my team, speak with international athletes, speak with medical professionals, present at events... and a whole lot more! "

How did I get here?

"At 14 years old, I injured myself in ballet. It took 3 years and 8 different specialists to finally diagnose the issue! For my master's project, I was offered the opportunity to put forward my own idea. I jumped at the chance! I developed a concept during my master's. When I graduated I decided to carry one my idea as a business.I have been working full time on Movetru since July 2020. It's a very exciting journey! I've been very fortunate to get funding to cover my salary and develop my idea.Growing up, I watched my mum grow her bicycle store and I was amazed by the business. I knew I loved business and maths, yet I never realised the potential of engineering until I went to university. Engineering is so diverse with endless potential."

The life I live

"Variety is important for me in and out of work!I am a ballet dancer and dance instructor. This is a great way to have fun and meet new, interesting people.I am a model. This allows me to be creative and become much more confident.I am an adventurer. I love to hike! Duke of Edinburgh showed me my passion for the outdoors whilst meeting amazing people.I am a STEM Ambassador. Sharing my passion for STEM and the Arts is really important to me. "

My typical day

"In my job, there is no 'typical' day - and I love that! I really enjoy the variety within my workload.Key work aspects I enjoy:- Connecting with people from across the world and working in projects together- Product development for Movetru, which includes creative thinking and numerical thinking- I get to develop how I was the product to look and feel. I use 'Canva', a free tool to make artwork. I am working with fashion designers to select materials and designs. I work with software coders (lots of great trials on the Arduino website!). I do some accounting (Excel can be really fun). - I'm able to be creative with colours and designs, whilst using my maths background to make it come to life! "
