There are parts of my role which are extremely detail focused so Quality Controller qualities are also essential. "

"I manage a fleet of 8-Wheel Tipper and Walking Floor Artic vehicles. I manage the vehicles and their maintenance and the drivers. The starting salary for my job would be in the low £30,000s. I enjoy the flexibility and variety of the role."

"I studied Architecture at University however I did not enjoy doing the degree. I found the 'crits' extremely uncomfortable. However I did discover a love of concrete! I then spent three years working in hospitality. I spent my winters working in the French Alps and my summer in hospitality jobs.I decided I was ready for a more 9-5 job and applied for Hanson's Graduate Scheme. After 2 years on the scheme I did my CPC in Road Haulage. I then started a role as a Distribution Resource Manager. "

"I spend a lot of time doing DIY! Me and my partner are doing up a house which hasn't been decorated since the 1990's, so we spend our weekends doing DIY to bring it back to life. I play hockey as part of my local hockey team. Before I started full time work I did 3 ski seasons in the French Alps, I love to go on holiday skiing now. "

"My days are very varied, it is one of the things I love most about my job. Sometime I spend time replying to e-mail or involved in project work on the computer. Sometimes I visit drivers to carry out truck inspection and check on the legal compliance of them and the vehicles. I spend time managing a fleet of drivers who work directly for me. I also spend time working with other companies who work on our behalf."
