Who am I?
"I am a very organised and self-disciplined individual. I thrive on learning and challenging myself. I enjoy exploring new ideas and come up with innovative ways to solve complex issues. I am also very detailed-orientated and enjoy solving puzzles. I also love to go out of my comfort zone and do things that I normally don't do."
What do I do?
"I am a programme manager. I manage and lead number of projects whilst making sure I maintain a good relationship with my clients. I enjoy working on complex projects in a dynamic environment. I utilise my management and organisational skills to make sure I deliver on time and within the budget on every single projects. I love the fact that my engineering skills enable me to develop processes for successful delivery of each projects. "
How did I get here?
"At the age of 12, my Physics teacher inspired me to become a Medical Engineer. Therefore in university, I studied Medical Engineering. After graduating, I did a PhD degree and undertook a post-doctoral research role at Imperial College London in the field of Bioengineering. I then moved to the NHS and started working as Healthcare Scientist in the field of Clinical Engineering.As a Clinical Engineer, I managed over 65,000 medical equipment and acted as a medical device safety officer. I also was responsible for the quality control of medical devices and their safety when in contact with patients.After 3 years, I moved to 'NHS England and NHS Improvement' to lead on service improvement projects. One of the interesting project that I managed was introducing sore throat test kits into pharmacies to help test and treat patients with sore throat infection. Currently, I am working at NHSx and my main aim is to introduce new technologies into the NHS to improve patients' health. "
The life I live
"I am a professional swimmer and weight training enthusiast. Beside exercising, I love cooking and dining! I always try new recipes and I am in love with Italian, Japanese, Persian and French cuisines. I also like reading! I have a huge library full of beautiful books. I never buy electronic books. I am very old-fashioned when it comes to books! I love the smell of new books!!!"
My typical day
"I spend time on planning and scoping the projects I am working on. I always create a project plan and arrange meeting with my team so I can keep them up-to-date. On daily basis, I track the progress of the projects and keep track of any issues or difficulties. I also delegate tasks and support my team on daily basis to make sure they have the right tools and skills to deliver a high quality project. "
My qualifications
"I have a first-degree BEng in Medical Engineering from University of Surrey. I also have two Master degrees: MSc in Medical Physics from Imperial College London and MSc in Medical Device Management &Governance from King's College London. I also have a PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London. "
