About Anna...
Who am I?
"As a kid, I loved puzzles, computer games, and choose your own adventure books. I accidently went into the college of computer and electrical engineering, but found I really enjoyed the challenge and excelled in problem solving. I was then recruited into a technical sale role which enabled me to travel and work with a plethora of interesting people! "
What do I do?
"My role in sales today is that of a technical influencer. I build programs and work with experts to ensure new products, technologies, and solutions are easy to use and consume. "
How did I get here?
"While I'm part of a sales and marketing organisation, I went to university for engineering. I started in technical sales roles and enjoyed taking new technologies to market, learning what markets needs are and how our technologies can fulfill those needs. "
The life I live
"I would consider myself an introvert and have spent a lot of time 'putting myself out there' so no one believes that about me. An old mentor once told me that to thrive is frequently putting yourself in uncomfortable situations, to not settle with a comfortable role. It takes a lot of courage to do that, but it has enabled me to be successful in my career which enables a lifestyle I can enjoy. "
My typical day
"Post-pandemic, I spend a lot of my day on the computer. Most is spent in emails or working on presentations, or on Team calls. Historically, my role would require a lot of travel, building relationships by seeing customers in person. "
My qualifications
"I graduated with Bachelors; of Science in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with honours. I did one summer abroad and one summer on internship, where I discovered my interests in travel and understanding of corporate life respectively. I joined my current company in a rotation program, which resulted in a move to the UK. Rotation programs are very valuable as they provide a fast way to learn different roles very quickly! "
