About Emma...
Who am I?
"Influencer, Manager and Quality ControllerI feel a lot of these personality types match me and what the qualities I need day to day to achieve my role to a high standard. They are qualities, that for me you will learn and develop throughout your career path, each and every role you take on you will add more to skills on your journey! "
What do I do?
"I work for END. clothing, and my main responsibilities are updating and refreshing the website, I work within the E-Commerce team and get to grips with all of our back of house systems that keep the website up to scratch and maintained. I enjoy the challenges that this brings, the issues faced day to day always vary and technology is always moving at a pace its hard to keep up with sometimes, but it means you will always be constantly evolving and learning new skills. "
How did I get here?
"I have a BA (Hons) in Fashion Marketing from Northumbria, I undertook this due to my interest in Fashion and my love of sewing, also the opportunity of higher learning that I felt I couldn't pass up on as a path to take. Although useful for my current field of work which is within the E-Commerce Fashion Retail sector, it wasn't a necessary degree to undertake, I have done a lot of on the job learning with my current role. Also END. support with in house workshops to refine general skills such as Excel training, although I would in future love to do more in-depth training in the current systems we use, although technology is always evolving and changing so keeping up to date and learning on the job is definitely a benefit from that point of view."
The life I live
"I'd say I like the same things as most others, socializing etc. but some random things I do enjoy in my spare time are Road Cycling, taking on DIY tasks in the flat I just bought and I've climbed Ben Nevis several times and would happily do it again."
My typical day
"A typical day at work for me starts with a site walk to make sure everything is as it should be, and there aren't any major issues with the website. If any issues are found this would be raised with our London based tech team.I would then move on to updating new products onto the website, and performing quality control on all newly live products. Then moving on to merchandising of product to create the best customer experience for the visitors to website. The website's homepage would then be reviewed and updated with new imagery and product, so everything you see on the homepage is updated and maintained by the E-Commerce team. Extra activities involve building and creating new pages for the website and troubleshooting any issues that are encountered in the day."
My qualifications
"10 GCSEs grade A-C; Including English, Mathematics, ScienceLike most I didn't take a direct route to the role I currently do, completing University, and having an array of jobs from Seamstress, Creative Visual Merchandiser, Call Center Phone Operative and now E-Commerce and Visual Merchandising. Always apply for that job that you visualize having and take a chance, I started my journey at END. as a Studio Assistant, I worked hard and got to grips with the various systems it takes to run an E-Commerce business. You don't always need qualifications and can learn on the job if you go push that extra mile to learn what you think will benefit you in future. Getting to grips with these systems allowed me to secure my job as E-Commerce and Visual Merchandising for END. which is a global destination for pinnacle products from over 450 leading brands and designers.
