About Michelle...

Who am I?

"The work I do is all about people and my personality types of Trainer and Communicator mean I prefer to work with others and enjoy the opportunity to support people to develop their skills, confidence and capabilities."

What do I do?

"I am a People Leader - I am responsible for a team of people whose job it is to design and deliver a range of different improvement initiatives. These improvements seek to help and support a large group of colleagues to do their jobs really well - so that ultimately we deliver a brilliant service to our business customers. I love the opportunity to lead people, to coach, challenge and support each person to do the best they possible can in their role."

How did I get here?

"My inspiration is Anita Roddick: an incredibly successful entrepreneur, business woman and activist whose career was also shaped and guided by her strong beliefs & ethics. [Read her Autobiography: Business As Unusual - its excellent]"

The life I live

"I have a number of hobbies & interests including: tap dancing, live music, gardening, motorcycling, theatre, contemporary art and travel. "

My typical day

"A typical day would involve providing a Weekly Commentary Report to my Head of Department which summarises the work my team has completed the previous week. I may have a short Workshop focusing on how we can best communicate with a group of people regarding a new way of working that is about to be announced. Sometimes I Facetime call with colleagues based at another office to discuss various things. I have weekly Team Meetings with my peers, as well as one-to-one meetings with members of my team to discuss their workload, development and behaviours. I coach and support colleagues in finding solutions to their problems. "
