About Bridget...
Who am I?
"These personality types as spookily on point. I matched as an \"Influencer, Manager and Quality Controller\", all of which are the strengths I draw on to be successful in role. Interesting to note the absent personality match of a \"Developer\" aka my current role, and perhaps that intuitively relates to my future career plan!"
What do I do?
"My typical day involves developing and testing automation code that will allow a virtual robot to replicate the actions of a colleague. There is a lot of trial and error in the early days, and with more experience my developing is getting closer to right first time. I love to see my robot working in action without errors - that's a real boost. To make sure that the code is on point, I work closely with the Operation and regularly engage them with regards to changes that may need to be made as identified by Quality Control. There's future opportunity assessments, where I utilise my data analysis skills to understand have 'we' identified the next viable proposition to be automated. I also enjoy engaging with contacts across the Group for project information and has a little time too for personal development such as studying for my RPA accreditation."
How did I get here?
"I've always had a passion with maths and regret not following a mathematical path through my A-levels and to university. I've worked for my employer for 17 years, and it took about 10 of those to embrace my instinct for logic and data. From there, I started as a Data Administrator, progressed to Business Analyst, side stepped into Quality Assurance before taking a leap into Robotics. I love every minute of this role and over the last 5 years I've seen significant career changes to get to now. They were all scary and worth it!"
The life I live
"My spare time is so varied! From socialising with friends to home making with my family. I often feel that down time is limited so relishes quality \"me time\" with a book - I'm currently reading \"The Elephant in the Office\"."
My typical day
"I create code to programme virtual robots to follow a series of commands that will ultimately automate basic and repetitive tasks."
My qualifications
"I have a full suite of GCSEs, 3 A Levels and 1 AS Level though none are computing related. I also have a CeMAP qualification to give Mortgage Advice. For my current role, I received training from her employer and will shortly be sitting an Accreditation relating to RPA developing."
