For the past five years I have been a valued member of Ramboll Southampton Building Structures Team. My experience involves conceptual and detailed design of new buildings (including multi-storey mixed use, retail, industrial and residential), refurbishment of existing structures, structural surveys and seismic design."

"I am the Lead Project Engineer of very exciting and challenging projects such as the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre and the Royal Horticultural Society Gardens Wisley. These buildings attract millions of visitors every year. I was responsible for the design of 48m long-span trusses, 40m long-span steel portal frames, transfer structures (steel trusses and reinforced concrete slabs) supporting 5 floors of cross-laminated timber floors. I produce conceptual designs and structural sketches to inform the Client on framing and stability options. I prepare presentations and reports on innovative and advancing offsite construction methods such as cross-laminated timber, panelised timber and volumetric modular to advise the Client on the optimum structural solution. I produced structural philosophy reports, structural specifications and technical reports to communicate the design intent to the external project team.I contribute towards decreasing the project cost during the value engineering phase through providing innovative structural solutions to reduce steelwork tonnage. More specifically, I carried out the seismic analysis and design of steel frames for the construction stage. Also, I undertook the structural assessment of roof renewals and produced structural reports with my findings. I produced calculations to prove that steel replacement was not required. I undertook structural calculations of concrete frame buildings formed of reinforced concrete basements and long spanning post-tensioned voided slabs.I represent Ramboll in design team meetings, carry out design coordination with Architects, Contractors and Subcontractors to resolve structural issues and site queries. I completed site inspections to monitor progress and quality of the works and prepared site visit reports. I undertook site visits to inspect the structural condition of the stadia and I undertook 10-year structural appraisal and prepared reports on recommendations."
