About Jashan...

Who am I?

"I think my personality type fits with TalkTalk very well. Working in Operations, specifically Billing & Payments, I am involved in most things and need to be able to wear a number of different hats depending on who I am working with. My Innovator, Explorer and Investigator traits all help with the practical, financial and information gathering aspects of my work."

What do I do?

"I lead the Billing & Payments functions for TalkTalk customers. We are responsible for ensuring we bill £120m+ revenue annually and collect £130m+ payments. We ensure customers receive accurate bills, we initiate and process customer payments and ensure we receive cash in the bank. There have been a number of exciting things that have happened in my career, but I get most satisfaction seeing other people grow. In terms of work travel, I have an offshore team I tend to visit every 6 months. I am also required to travel to Manchester often to visit our second site. We are also required to travel to see business partners or go to exciting events when invited!"

How did I get here?

"I have been inspired by a few people throughout my career who have either personally helped me grow or have motivated me to grow through their approach and style. There are some great leaders outside of work in all industries that have achieved so much, although I feel I motivated myself. I set personal goals and worked towards them daily. I set targets and milestones to measure my progress. I also found a few individuals within the organisation whom I respected and used them as a guide on how to improve."

The life I live

"I spend time socialising and meeting with friends and family. I love shopping (although I do it online more now) and I also like to explore and find new things."

My typical day

"I am not sure I can describe a typical day as every day is different. I think this is what excites me the most about my job. Days are spent, looking through and responding to emails, reviewing a to-do list and trying to finish the tasks on there. I engage with the team if there are any incidents or issues and we brain storm to find solutions. Being able to develop individuals in my team, teaching them something new and seeing them progress is very satisfying. I enjoy completing projects and helping fix problems. I provide advice and recommendations on how we can be a better organisation - and those recommendations being implemented – is also great to see. Learning something new every day is also a great thing. "

My qualifications

"Secondary education (GCSE/O-Levels)Post secondary education (College, A-levels, NVQ3 or equivalent)Vocational qualification (Diploma, Certificate, BTEC, NQV4 or equivalent)Undergraduate degree (BSc, BA, etc.) Business, Management & Communication Prince 2"
