About Louisa...
Who am I?
"I am an Explorer, Investigator and Developer! I am creative and inventive, logical and curious. I work well with other people and enjoy being part of a team. Being an ‘Investigator’ involves being logical and cooperative, which is essential for me when working with multiple design teams and their creations. "
What do I do?
"I manage a team of people responsible for measuring the efficiency, and looking at the processes, of designs created in other parts of the company. This ensures the products have been quality checked, and these trials will prove the targets have been achieved. When I started work, my salary was £17,000"
How did I get here?
"I wasn't a high achiever at school until year 9 and my dad was a big inspiration. I didn’t have any real direction – I just picked subjects I liked. I wasn't necessarily the best at these, but I enjoyed the work. I had a couple of chance encounters with the electronics industry which opened my field of vision. I completed my A Levels and then went on to do an Electronic and Electrical Engineering Degree with a year placement in industry. "
The life I live
"In my spare time, I do crochet and sewing, go running and like creating stuff."
My typical day
"A typical day involves reading and replying to emails, getting updates from the team and helping make decisions about where to go next. New problems present themselves on a daily basis and I enjoy problem solving and working in a very engaged team. The most exciting part of my career is being a part of the mobile phone revolution."
My qualifications
"Undergraduate degree - BSc Electronic and Electrical Engineering"
