"I am currently engaged in the design and writing of content for use in marketing communications, documents bidding for work and in proposal documents in response to invitations to propose a solution. My other priority is the production of presentations and take-away packages for our products. We work in a specialist field so we cannot simply outsource this work. Whoever writes the content needs an understanding of the business and the technology. I am required to do some public speaking and have recently been delivering talks about how metadata is being used within the video and retail industries. "

"Many years ago the BBC sponsored my attendance at college to obtain an adult teaching qualification and subsequently for a wide range of management and technology training. Since then I have mainly sponsored my own training and subscribe to LinkedIn Learning. I have been inspired by many people. Colleagues who taught me new things, managers who were good leaders and industry figures who had something worthwhile to say. This all prompts me to read a lot, I aim to go to bed smarter than when I woke up.Who knows what the future holds. I am at an age where I am attending funerals, not weddings and at the moment I am working beyond my official retirement date. However, when I do eventually retire I have plans, inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee, to do lots of sewing. "

"I like public speaking and regularly speak at events in York, London, Leeds and Sheffield. In my spare time, I run a knitting circle at work where I teach others to knit. I also like going out with my partner hunting for interesting objects in junk shops. I love reading and my main topics are technology books. "

"It is difficult to describe a typical day because I have different work to do on different days. Each day will have responses to emails and phone calls. I have colleagues in different parts of the world, often there are conference calls with people in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Milan, Malaga and Amsterdam. Today I am arranging a guest list for a Boat Party in Amsterdam that forms part of the International Broadcasting Convention. When I finish that, I will be proofreading a proposal that needs to be sent out today. Tomorrow I will be putting the finishing touches to a PowerPoint Presentation for Women in Tech York. Last week I was looking for companies we could contact and arrange to meet for a demonstration of our software. Each week brings its own challenges and that keeps me interested. "
