About Vaida...
Who am I?
"Vaida is logical and imaginative and good at solving problems and developing solutions. This matches well with the ‘Explorer’ type. She always thinks about future needs when developing proof of concept products for the end user, which suits the ‘Developer’ type. Vaida likes to work collaboratively, and she is motivated by finding solutions to improve the lives of farmers in her industry, which fits in with being the ‘Trainer’ type."
What do I do?
"As a Data Scientist in the agricultural industry, Vaida works on data visualisation, data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence. She is given a task, writes a code for it in the programming language Python, tries to learn about the data she has been given, and by modelling different scenarios, comes up with a solution. She really enjoys the variety of tasks in her job. Vaida was really excited to use her machine learning skills to develop proof of concept products that will ease the life of a farmer some day!"
How did I get here?
"Vaida has always been inspired by her mum, who got one degree in Engineering and another in Business Management, which she completed as a single mother. That taught Vaida that she could do anything, no excuses!Vaida started by doing a Psychology degree, but the only part of her course that she enjoyed was statistics, so she took more statistics modules and that got her a job in data analysis. She then decided that she wanted to push herself forward, so she decided to do a master’s in Data Science, and got promoted to a Data Scientist role.Vaida always wants to improve upon her work and to learn new concepts. She thinks being a Data Scientist is perfect for her because she gets to solve a lot of different tasks with a lot of different methods."
The life I live
"In her spare time Vaida enjoys going to the gym, and also cooking, especially trying to cook challenging recipes with her friends! She also loves learning new languages and travelling, and has enjoyed having the opportunity to travel around the country visiting agricultural clients as part of her job. In her line of work, Vaida could eventually progress to be a Senior or Head Data Scientist and ultimately the Chief Data Officer. In the future, Vaida would like to do a PhD in Artificial Intelligence or a related subject, so that hopefully she can one day start her own company or become a Chief Data Officer."
