About Rachel...

Who am I?

"Rachel works as Senior Engineer for a major construction company.Rachel deals with a lot with people in her role, and her agreeable and co-operative personality helps her to interact with others and achieve goals more efficiently. This matches well with the ‘Communicator’ and ‘Campaigner’ types. She is also required to brief and manage people in her job, so she suits the ‘Trainer’ type too."

What do I do?

"As a Senior Engineer, Rachel is responsible for managing operations and people on building sites to deliver construction projects on time and within budget. She will be looking at building designs and schedules and making sure that everything runs to plan. She works on structures including homes, schools, and motorways.Rachel starts her day at work by answering emails. She then puts together design briefs and contacts both her main contractors and her subcontractors to work together to achieve deadlines. Rachel really enjoys the high-pressure environment she works in and how fast-paced her job is."

How did I get here?

"Rachel did a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at university. After that she did a graduate scheme working as a Graduate Engineer with a starting salary of £27,000. She then worked as a Structural Engineer, before moving into her current role as a Senior Engineer."

The life I live

"In her spare time, Rachel loves relaxing with friends, going out and going to the gym. Rachel is constantly inspired by her mentor and her peers, and in the future, she would love to see herself working in a high-profile role."
