Who am I?
"Lauren works with electronics, writing code and designing products for customers This role requires her to be methodical and sensible to find and solve problems. She works in a large organisation which means it's important for her to understand how money, the law and sales will operate as well. She is the Explorer, Quality Controller, Investigator types, but the explorer type is her strongest trait. This fits her well because she must be curious and inventive in her job. Being creative and trying new things allow her to solve problems in the best ways she can."
What do I do?
"Lauren is an Electronic Engineer, responsible for designing products to meet customer requirements, writing code to control the products she creates and testing and improving current products to make them work better. She could be designing products for healthcare, automotive, home appliances, energy efficiency systems or the latest technical innovations. She works with microcontrollers, which are small computers that are very versatile – this means her job lets her do a wide variety of electronics! She loves being part of modern technology, learning about new and cutting-edge developments."
How did I get here?
"Lauren studied Maths, Physics and Product Design at A level. She was inspired by an electronics student who ran a taster session in Year 12. She saw how exciting electronics was, and the huge range of projects she could be part of as an electronic engineer. This started her passion for electronics. She went on to study Electronic Engineering at university which is interesting because she was the first person in her family to have gone to university. Lauren still remembers how exciting it was to plug in and use the first circuit board that she ever designed."
The life I live
"Lauren loves to ski, both at indoor venues in the UK and on holiday in France. She also likes spending time with friends and goingon long walks in the countryside where she lives.In the future Lauren would love to get a more senior position and make a real impact on the industry she works in. She wants to be able to do more to promote inclusion and diversity within the company. She always tries to be the best role model she can be for the next generation of engineers."
