Zoologist

If you're interested in animals, then a zoologist may be a good match for you as they study animals and their behaviour. They carry out field and laboratory research, gather and interpret the information they find, and then produce detailed reports of their findings. This means it's really important for them to have excellent written communication skills. When carrying out field research, they get to study animals either in their natural environment, or in captivity. To become a zoologist, you should study a subject such as zoology, animal ecology or conservation. Depending on the job, you will also then need a relevant postgraduate qualification like a master's degree or PhD. They can earn between £21,000 and £48,000.
